Nathan

Nathan, Where will I find you? Scattered across the night sky in a million specs of light? How can I see you when the sun is so blinding? Will your rainbow shine on when night pulls us in?

And what of these embers still glowing hot in the cool morning? The ancient fire no longer dancing, but not yet put out.

Near the place we sleep dew collects as footprints in a meadow. Tall grass bent back like grieving children. Like a brother I search for you. Stumbling over relics. Learning your language. Faithfully tracking breadcrumbs meant for others. They have become the gifts of life. Unbreakable, like a father’s touch. Unshakeable, like a mother’s love. Source of goodness. Source of grief. A mosaic within a mosaic. A reflection within a reflection. Silhouettes.

In stillness and in chaos we have grown. Spreading out like wildflowers. Coming into our bodies. Every day revealing more of your mosaic.

Some of us have grown by inches. Some of us by feet. Some of us by mountains.
